Inceif gets Project of National Interest status

 


KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara’s International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (Inceif) has been accorded the “Project of National Interest” status by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The status was accorded in recognition of Inceif’s role in the development of the human capital for the country’s growing Islamic finance industry, Inceif said in a statement yesterday.
Organisations and individuals who contribute cash to Inceif are now eligible to claim for tax deduction in respect of their contributions.
Inceif yesterday received a total of RM250,000 zakat payables contribution from Affin Islamic Bank Bhd, Bank Islam (M) Bhd and Maybank Islamic Bhd yesterday.

At the contribution ceremony at Bank Negara yesterday, Bank Negara assistant governor Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim said the status was granted for the year of assessment retrospective from 2007 to 2016
