The university adopts teaching-learning strategies to inculcate the correct attitudes in students.

These strategies include student-centred activities with minimum didactic teaching.

The university uses the problem-based approach method and student-centred team-based Learning, peer group discussion and presentations.

These methods teach learning, responsibility, teamwork and communication skills.

CUCMS introduces clinical medicine and clinical care in the first week of medical school.

To end this course, students take part in an outdoor camp in Malacca.

Students undergo a co-curriculum involvement in "Young Mercy" and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) where they are urged as well as supported to organise humanitarian activities. CUCMS offers courses in Disaster Medicine (in Year Two) and Military Medicine and Psychiatry (in Year Four).

The BPharm programme prepares students for jobs in hospitals, clinical, and community pharmacies, as well as industrial pharmacy and pharmaceutical research.

CUCMS exposes Pharmacy students to industrial pharmacy training and research related to drugs and healthcare.

Pharmacy students from the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy can do academic and extracurricular activities together.

The BHMS programme is offered through CUCMS's Faculty of Traditional and Complementary Medicine.

Faculty dean Dr Ahmad Asmadi Yusof says it offers a homeopathy course as it used worldwide and CUCMS wants to be the first in Malaysia to offer homeopathic education.
